This is the general purpose guide, the stuff that applies everywhere, all the time to stay safe on a night out. These are the trends showing up in security circles right now and they're relevant every time you leave the house for a night out.

ASK FOR ANGELA - KNOW IT?	If you're at a bar, club or venue in Kent and feel unsafe, approach any staff member and ask for "Angela." This is a UK wide scheme trained staff will discreetly help you, arrange a taxi, or remove you from the situation safely. No questions asked.
SPIKING IS A STAND ALONE CRIME NOW	New UK legislation treats spiking as its own offence. If you suspect you or someone else has been spiked, report it immediately to venue security first, then police. Don't brush it off. Early reporting gives the best chance of evidence and justice.
PERSONAL SAFETY APPS	Apps like bSafe, PanicGuard and HollieGuard let a trusted contact follow your location in real time. Some have a "walk with me" feature and a panic button. If you're regularly walking home alone at night, these are genuinely worth downloading.
SHARE YOUR LOCATION	Before any big night out, drop your live location to one trusted person a housemate, a parent, anyone. They don't have to monitor it. But if something goes wrong, they know where you were. It costs you nothing.
LIT STREETS, BUSY ROUTES	If you're walking home, stay on well lit, well populated routes even if it takes longer. Shortcuts through parks, lit paths or alleys at night are consistently where incidents happen. The extra five minutes is always worth it.
SOCIAL MEDIA OVERSHARING	Don't broadcast your exact location in real time on social media while you're out. "We're at X venue tonight!" tells anyone who's watching exactly where you are. Post the photos the next day, the memories aren't going anywhere.
