Big Crowds, Bigger Risks. Stay Smart
Large Events in Kent
Whether it's a stadium gig, a city parade, or a protest march tens of thousands of people in one place changes everything.
Crowds can shift in seconds. Your plan before you go into a large event is what keeps you safe.
ARRIVE EARLY, LEAVE SMART | Arrive before peak rush so you can get in calmly and scope the venue. Know your exit plan before the event ends the most dangerous time is the surge out. Plan your route home in advance, not in the chaos. |
DON'T BLOCK EXITS | Always be aware of where emergency exits are. If you're standing in a crowd and feel pressure building, start moving calmly toward the edges. Don't wait until it becomes uncomfortable |
LIGHT TRAVEL ONLY | Big bag = slow you down at security checks and makes you a target. Phone, ID, card, a bit of cash, portable charger. That's it. You'll move faster and feel safer. |
OUTSIDE IS TOO RISKY | Queues outside big events are prime pickpocket territory. Keep your valuables secure from the moment you join the queue. Be aware of people bumping into you it's often deliberate. |
STAY WITH THE CROWD | Solo shortcuts through dark alleys or car parks after a big event are a bad call. Stick to lit, busy routes. If something feels off, it probably is trust that instinct. |
LISTEN TO SECURITY STAFF | If a security officer asks you to move, move. They can see crowd dynamics you can't. Arguing wastes time and can put you in a worse position. We're there to help work with us. |
