What qualifications do your security officers hold?
Every Akon Security officer holds a current SIA licence (Security Guard or Door Supervisor level), Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), conflict management and communication skills training, health and safety awareness and fire safety and evacuation procedures training. Many officers hold additional qualifications including SIA CCTV licence, Close Protection, or crisis response training. All officers are DBS checked and wear Akon Security Services branded uniform.
Can you provide security guards at short notice?
Yes. We maintain a pool of vetted, available officers who can be deployed at short notice. This makes us a reliable partner for businesses needing emergency cover due to sickness, sudden risk escalation, or last minute events. We have established relationships with hotels, retail groups and councils across Kent who rely on us for exactly this.
What's the difference between a security guard and a door supervisor?
Both hold SIA licences, but a Door Supervisor licence includes additional training covering licensed premises legislation, physical intervention and specific conflict management scenarios. Door Supervisors are required by law for anyone working at licensed premises (pubs, clubs, venues). Security Guards are typically deployed at retail, corporate, construction, or residential sites.
How do you report incidents and keep us informed?
You receive written incident reports promptly after any notable occurrence. For ongoing contracts, we provide regular operational updates and a dedicated point of contact in our operations team.
